Design & Implementation of Extended Precision IIR Digital Filters in EEG Feedback System

In EEG feedback system,it's important to filter the signal of needed bands and process it.Due to the feathers of brain wave and the superiority of Infinite Impulse Response(IIR) filters,IIR filters are used to filter the needed band in EEG feedback system.Furthermore,due to the hardware limited word precision,the IIR filters designed and implemented directly in the hardware will lead to serious error and unstable problem.It's necessary to extend the precision of the IIR filters.This paper introduces the principles of extended precision IIR filter design in EEG feedback system,and illustrates the details of the implementation.
