Cognitive Motive for Matching the Selectivity of Adjective and Noun
Zuo Shuang-ju · 2006
In people's consensual domain, semantic compatibility remains a basis for matching adjectives and nouns,i.e.in terms of semantic characters, adjectives and nouns must have something in common, thereby providing imageries for the selection of adjective to N,and for coordination of DN format concerning.Due to the existence of fuzzy boundary, while taking as a connecting clue different adjectives D1 and D2 that,to some extent, link to N in semantic characters,we can be activated by the relative characters of N among varied types in memory, and then pick up D1 and D2,showing the simultaneous matching of D1 and D2 in structure.
