Establishment and Application of Land and Resource Knowledge Base

Knowledge base(KB) has become a research focus recently.Knowledge is regarded as a kind of information mined from data base(DB) and benefits to government decision making.In this paper,the data-knowledge-application framework is described to build land and resource knowledge base.There are four types of land and resource knowledge base,which are spatial,image,thematic and metadata KB,and every KB can also be made up by more detail knowledge clusters.Data mining and expert experience are two main methods to get knowledge,and how to represent knowledge and design knowledge database is also discussed.Some possible applications are proposed finally,and an example of land and resource synthetical analysis system is developed based on KB.
