Impacts of Information Architecture on the Development of Contemporary Information Science

This article retrospects the naissance and evolutive course of information architecture,and introduces its fundamental contents.Based on the analysis of its characteristics,the authors elaborate on the impetus which information architecture gives to contemporary information science research from the knowledge mapping,cognitive retrieval and knowledge services points of view.
