The limited entropy deconvolution of seismic data
Rui Wang · Petroleum Geophysics · 2005
Starting with the traditional deconvolution, the conception of and its specific meanings in seismic prospecting are discussed. Shortcomings of the current deconvolution are pointed out. For the suppression of normalized variance norm to weak reflections, an alternation of logarithm transform norm is proposed. On the basis of that minimum entropy changed to limited entropy is developed. Limited can prevent weak reflections from suppression, improve the resolution, and keep energy balanced to the whole profile. It is a update to the classical deconvolution.
