Strategies for improving the performance of TCP in wireless networks
Zhongpei Wang · Journal of Hefei University of Technology · 2007
The paper discusses some improvements in performance of the traditional TCP in wireless networks.Performance of the TCP in the wireless network with a base station is analyzed and its improvement policies and methods are discussed. The problems of the TCP as it is applied in ad hoc networks are studied, and the method of cross-layer design is introduced to enhance the performance of the TCP.The cooperation of the MAC layer and the physical layer is adopted to improve the MAC layer protocol in order to improve the performance of the TCP,and the cooperation of the MAC layer and the transmission layer is made so as to adjust the TCP,thus improving the performance of the TCP.
