DSP External E~2PROM Interface Design Based on SPI

According to problems of commonly used TMS320VC5402 in expanding external data storage,a SPI-based external data memory expansion is proposed.The basic operation of TMS320VC5402 multi-channel buffered serial port(McBCP) in the SPI serial data interface,read and write operation in SPI mode,and read and write operation timing diagram are introduced.The proposed approach not only saves TMS320VC5402 I/O,improves storage speed and simplifies the hardware circuitry,improves reliability of the system and difficulty of study,and verifies the method is feasible in practical application.
