Application of the tracking methodology in management of blood transfusion

Objective To explore the method and effects of tracking methodology in the safe management of blood transfusion. Methods Interventions included establishing a track team,making standards,paths and content of tracking,using tracking methodology in the safe management of blood transfusion of patients,determining high risk factors,formulating and implementing the improvement measures based on the results of tracking. Results Blood transfusion knowledge examination scores of nurses were significantly higher than before( P 0. 01),the qualified rate of safe blood transfusion and blood specimen collection,the evaluation rate before blood transfusion,the qualified rate of blood transfusion nursing record and return rate of blood bags were significantly higher than before( P 0.01 or P 0.05). Conclusion Tracking methodology in the safe management of blood transfusion is effective.
