Survey of Detecting Methods about Inter-Turn Short Circuit Fault in Rotor Windings of Generator

The present study situation of fault diagnosis methods about inter-turn short circuit in rotor windings of generator was systematically introduced.Theories and effects of the detecting coil method,circulating stator current method,excitation current method and repetitive surge oscilloscope method were discussed.The advantages and disadvantages of these methods and their scopes of application were analyzed and summarized.The application of wavelet analysis in fault diagnosis was summarized too.Based on this,some problems that remain to be solved in this field and some new research directions were pointed out.
