A spatiotemporal model and query language for moving objects on road networks
Mingliang Liu · Information technology newsletter · 2011
The advances in positioning and communication technologies make it possible to collect and transfer trajectories of moving vehicles.Moving object databases are becoming more and more popular because of the increasing number of application domains that deal with moving entities and need to pose queries. So far implementations of such systems have been rather weak and certainly not at industrial strength level. This paper defines a concise data model and proposes an implementation design based on off-the-shell industrial solutions enhancing thus the applicability and robustness of the approach.
