PROGRAMMATICALLY CONFIGURING ODBC DATA SOURCE AND ALIAS IN DELPHI 5.0

When database system is developed and made available to the users and business, it is necessary to set up database alias or ODBC data source correctly in order to run system in path of install. It is very difficult to set up alias and ODBC data source for the users. They must be set up in a program. This paper shows how to programmatically configure alias and ODBC data sources of database in developing the database's application system with Delphi 5.0, introduces the principle of ODBC data source configuring and provides application examples . It is very important to the development and business software of the database's application system.
