Management-oriented Variability Modeling of Software Product Family

It is very important to control and manage the variability of software product family to improve the reusability of software and satisfy user's various demands.This paper presents a management-oriented variability modeling(MOVM) method,which runs through the whole life of variability and feedback process under the guidance of variability management.It designs different strategies for each stage to support variability modeling.Furthermore,it gives a configuration framework of key asset to support software development.In this method,the change elements drive the evolution process of family model,and this overcomes the disadvantage of traditional method that does not involve this problem.Finally,a real software system is shown to illustrate how to use the MOVM to construct software system,and also demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach.
