Search-length based fast block-matching motion estimation algorithm

A search-length based on the fast block-matching motion estimation algorithm is proposed.The proposed algorithm uses multiple initial predictor candidates and the predictor SL and SAD of neighbor macroblocks in space and temporal correlation,according to the different statistical SL and SAD,the proposed algorithm uses different search criteria and search pattern.Extensive simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is better than other recently proposed algorithms and it can control the search speed ac-cording to practical demands.
