The Application and Implementation of ZUC Stream Cipher in the Digital Image Encryption

Varieties of existing digital image encryption algorithms have been analyzed to seek a kind of digital image encryption algorithm with high security and low complexity of software/hardware implementation.ZUC algorithm is a stream cipher technique with high security for its three logic layers structure of linear feedback shift register(LFSR),bit reorganization(BR) and nonlinear function(F).ZUC stream cipher allows a low power and low complexity of hardware implementation.What's more,ZUC stream cipher is suitable for the encryption of digital image for its high speed of key stream generation.Finally,the ZUC stream cipher is implemented to encrypt the digital image.The encryption result shows that the ZUC stream cipher is effective for the digital image encryption.
