A Management Software for Beowulf Parallel Computing Systems
Dan Liang · Journal of Sichuan University · 2006
A management software for Beowulf systems, which makes use of Windows Sockets(Winsock) library and MPI(Message Passing Interface) parallel library and is written in Visual Basic in conjunction with Visual Fortran,is introduced. The software allows a user to easily operate the parallel system from one computer, such as checking the status of computers, remotely copying files, checking the threads existing in the memory of computers, measuring the calculation speed of computers, shutting down or restarting anyone or all computers. This software already has been run on a Beowulf system composed of 16 PCs,and simplified its parallel operations and increased its management efficiency.
