Impulse Voltage Distribution for Power Transformer Applied in the Optimal Design of Winding Insulation

In order to guarantee the safe and reliable operation of power transformers, the reasonable design of the insulation structure inside them is very important, especially the winding insulation of transformer coil should be able to bear various overvoltages such as lighting overvoltage, long-term operating voltage, switching overvoltage and transient overvoltage.The mechanism of oscillation overvoltage and induction overvoltage produced in transformer windings under impulse voltage conditions, the principle of the simulation of impulse voltage distribution in transformer windings, and the experience of winding insulation design using the simulation software are theoretically summarized. It is pointed out that the simulation of impulse voltage distribution plays an important role in the design of power transformer.
