This paper classifies the factors which have impacts on the altitude-measurement precision of airborne early warning radar, and introduces the main factors of impacting altitude-measurement precision of the monopulse system radar.Based on ground/sea clutter, atmospheric refraction, multipath effects and airplane movement effects, the altitude-measurement errors of the airborne early warning radar are analyzed. After evaluating the error levels in altitude-measurement precision caused by these factors, the suggestions in radar system design and fixed error compensation are given to improve altitude precision.
