Research of Methods Used in Video Similarity Measurement in Content-based Retrieval

The most used retrieval method of video retrieval is query by example. If user submits a video as example, system returns a set of similar videos. To design a high quality video retrieval system needs to define whether two videos are similar precisely. The basic concepts of video retrieval is presented in this paper. The mainly formula and fundamental of video similarity measurement methods have been reported. And then the problems of these methods are pointed out in this paper, finally discusses the development tendency of video similarity measurement.
