Simulation of the Self-Organized Characteristics of the Data Link for STDMA

The dynamic slot reservation selection method is adopted in STDMA, the key technique in Automatic Identification System(AIS).Because of the variability of the data link load in channels,the reserved slot would possibly collide. Based on the computer simulation,this paper studies the performance of the self-organized characteristics, provided by the STDMA algorithm under different data link loads,especially under high load conditions. Furthermore it discusses the relationship between the required capacity and the throughput together with other factors in the the STDMA system, such as distance. Finally,a series of the equations are proposed to calculate the throughput in different zones.
