The Methods and Measures of Root Intrusion Protection in Subsurface Drip Irrigation

Several common measures of root intrusion protection in subsurface drip irrigation are introduced in this paper, including mechanical protection and injecting a little Trifluralin herbicide into the soil around emitters through irrigation system. On the basis of expounding the functional theory and chemical physical properties of Trifluralin, the authors introduced the functional theory and application method of three ways using Trifluralin, including incorporating Trifluuralin into several special emitter (ROOTGUARD brand, Battelle Process brand) and filter (Techfilter brand), and providing irrigation system with Trifluralin directly.
