Wide-Band Signal-Subspace Spatial-Spectrum Estimation Based on Frequency Domain Modeling

Jianguo Huang · Dianzi xuebao · 2004

A new approach to estimate the spatial-spectrum of wide-band sources is presented. The approach is termed as wide-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum estimation based on frequency domain modeling (SSEFD).Firstly, the noise-subspace invariability of wide-band signals is derived by analysis of the eigenstructure of the covariance matrix of the wide-band array signal. And wide-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum is defined by the invariant noise subspace character. Then Buckley's broad-band signal-subspace spatial-spectrum (BASS-ALE) is proposed for resolving frequency-direction ambiguity when the new approach is applied to a uniform linear array. At last,SSEFD is compared to Wang's coherent signal-subspace (CSS) by computer simulation. The results show good performance of the new approach.
