Time-frequency analysis of colonic pressure based on S transform

Colonic manometry is a widely used method to evaluate functions of the alimentary tract and is most valuable to the diagnosis of the colonic functions.The colonic pressure is analyzed in the time-frequency domain by the S transform(ST).Compared to Short Time Fourier Transform and Wigner Distributions,ST has progressive resolution of the time-frequency domain and is a linear operation on time series that can cancel the cross items and the negative frequency items.It is very clear to display the motility of human colons through ST analysis.Experimental results show that it is an effective method to obtain useful characteristics using ST in time-frequency analysis.
