A kind of visual communication system's design and its application

The traditional communication ways for cavern exploration cannot help users to determine the cavern's features in a timely manner.It is necessary to development a visual communication system to facilitate the progress of cavern exploration.An automatic compensating infrared camera and a headset are used for scene recording,then,the recorded information is coded by MPEG-4 format and transmitted by SDSL technology.Based on these technologies,a kind of visual communication prototype was developed in our laboratory.The test results indicate that when the bit error rate under 2% the data transmission distances can achieve 3km.
