Important Factors Affecting the Self-adequacy of Phrases

We discuss the problems of the selfadequacy of phrases and summarize some general rules. We find that semantic features, structural hierarchy and prosody are three main factors which influence the selfadequacy of phrases. Semantic features are the most important factors since they work in many aspects. Structural hierarchy and prosody also influence the selfadequacy of phrases to some degree.
