JPEG2000 is a new international standard for image compression developed by Joint Photographic Experts Group. It mainly studies the coding characteristic of JPEG2000 and influence of the error of important bits on decoding data.An error correction decoding algorithm based on ruling of important bits is presented. It can correct decoding of multibits error in important bits of JPEG2000 coding data.
