The main technical differences between PHS and 3G and the base of the convergence of PHS and 3G are analyzed. With the introduction of Softswitch, a key technology for the service convergence of PHS and 3G, the possibility of the smooth transition of PHS to 3G is discussed. And the prospect of PHS is finally viewed.
