The improved technologies of proteomics have promoted the developments in many fields.Toxicoproteomics that integrates classic toxicology, pathology and proteins express analysis technology has promoted toxicology to a new level.Drug-induced injury is one of the main etiological factors of liver diseases.Hepatotoxicity is a vital challenge during drug development. The main technologies of proteomics include two-dimensental gel electrophoresis mass spectrum(2-DE-MS),liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrum(LC-MS-MS),retentate chromatography-mass spectrometry(RC-MS),protein arrays and so on.The application of technologies of proteomics in toxicity include screening toxicity biomarkers, exploring mechanism of toxic effect, predicting toxicity and establishing protein databases related to toxic effects. In the present article,we reviewed both the main technologies of proteomics and the application in drug hepatotoxicity research.
