Fast Fractional-pel Motion Estimation Algorithm

A new model of motion compesated error distribution function based on Lagragian interpolation theorem.Here the interpolation is selected in one direction,for each fractional-pel pixel,only three integer pixels are need for interpolation,highly reducing calculation complexity.And based on this model,a fast fractional-pel motion estimation algorithm is proposed,which reduces the searched pixels count and improves the searching efficiency.Experiments show that the efficient motion estimation algorithm proposed can reduce block matching distortion computations relative to full search algorithm with neglectable coding efficiency loss.
