Construction of a class of linear codes

By using a method similar to the one used for punctured Reed-Solomon codes,a class of linear codes using elements from any finite extension Fqs(s≥3) of Fq are constructed.They are compared to the ones constructed with symmetric polynomials and elements from any finite extension Fqs(s≥3) of Fq,and the results show that the parameters of the codes in this paper are as good as the ones of the latter.The former are easier and conveniently constructed.
