Study on Application of 3S Techniques in Coastline Surveying and Managing

This paper expatiates on some issues of coastline management. The essentiality and necessity of implementing coastline survey, changing the coastline data in time and establishing coastline management system is discussed. It is believed that 3S techniques are useful tools in coastline surveying and managing. An example is given to show the application of coastline survey by 3S techniques, and the survey precision of the coastline based on beacon differential GPS,RTK and TM image is analyzed. It is affirmed in this paper to survey manpower coastline by TM image. Some interrelated issues are brought forward for further studies.
