The necessity of protection in grades for lightning protection was analyzed. The usage of FG three grades of surge arresters with whole range, which are used to lightning protection in the side of low voltage power supply, constructional features, performance, main technical data and functional accessories were introduced. The basic circuit schemes in different earthing systems and the selective method of fuses for backup protection were given.
