Study of the FMCW Radar Level Gauge in the Measurement for Oil Tankers

The measurement of the liquid level of the oil tanker is mainly manual.With the development of measurement technology,the new tankers are installed with liquid level measurement devices.Due to technical reasons,these instruments can only be used to monitor,not to measure.However,the use of the frequency-modulated continuous wave(FMCW) radar lever gauge will be a trend.The radar level gauge for oil tankers in liquid level measurement,the use of the tanker level gauge radar principles,methods and practical applications are studied.The measurement of the liquid level of the oil tanker is mainly manual.With the development of measurement techniques,as well as the concern of the safety of the crew,more and more automated meter such as FMCW radar lever gauge will replace the tanker cargo measurement.
