As a new developing technology system,Geographical Information System can not only store and analyse and express the attribute information of the various audiences in the real world,but also able to handle the characteristics of spatial orientation,get the spatial information and attribute information combined organic,make query retrieval and analysis to the real world from the aspects of space and property,and also can express the information intuitively,to deal with some management issues,complex planning and complicated program in a certain geographical regions.By declaring the building process of Water Resources Monitoring System for Nanjiang County,Sichuan Province,the essay briefly introduce the GIS application in the water industry,provide a priory experience for construction of water conservancy information in the future.
