AVS is the Audio and Video Coding Standards of China, and intra prediction technology is the important part of that. This paper presents the principle and arithmetic of intra prediction. And we show a hardware design of intra prediction decoder, introduce the function and stucture of all the module. Finally, the results of testing show that this design is completely true.
