A method for choosing the wavelet decomposition level in structural fault analysis

Wavelet is widely used in structure fault analysis for its special characteristic.There are two problems in operating process,although the wavelet makes good effect in structure fault analysis.The problems are the choice of wavelet base and the choice of decomposition level.The wavelet decomposition level is very important to the analysis and will influence the result.Based on structural dynamic system,considering the affect that imposed by structural dynamic response,frequency collapse,frequency confusion.A kind of arithmetic of wavelet decomposition was summarized,also the formula was given.
