The traditional fault tree analysis method is based on a static logic or a static failure mechanism. But it can not be use d to analyze the reliability of fault tolerant systems. Dynamic fault tree analysis is an effective way for the reliability analysis of fault tolerant syst ems. T his paper introduces a new type of logic gate with spare pool, and provides the conversio n from this logic gate to Markov chain. The dynamic fault tree model with such l ogic gates featuring dynamic characteristics extends the adaptability of traditional fault trees to fault tolerant systems. Finally,a typical example is given to show the fault t ree model based on this method,the computation of its reliability and the analys is results.
