Method and implementation of GIS secondary development

The paper introduces three methods of GIS secondary development,they are independent secondary development,simple secondary development and integrated secondary development. Then it compares the advantages and disadvantages of each method. Using ArcObjects component library and MapControl controls and Scene Viewer Control controls provided by ESRI company,this paper makes secondary development of GIS under ArcGIS8.3 environment based on VisualC+ +6.0.
