Time Synchronization MAC Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network

Gang Wu · Radio and communications technology · 2012

Aiming at the differences among the monitoring time slots of the frames of different boundary nodes in S-MAC protocol,it is put forward that a scheduling-table list is preserved in each node, and hereby the spanning tree synchronization algorithm is set up.The amount of nodes within the cluster is counted by making use of the spanning tree, and based on this the suitable scheduling-table lists in the boundary nodes within the cluster can be chosen so as to realize the synchronization of the whole network in the scheduling list and the merging of the clusters,as well as remove the boundary nodes. The simulation result indicates that the improved protocol reduces the energy consumption and the delay of data transmission.
