Research on Reading Recognition System of Index-instrument

A reading recognition system of index-instrument is introduced.Firstly,preprocessing operation on index-instrument is done;then,the index is extracted with the maximum gradient comparing subtraction method;finally,according to the characteristics of the instrument's index change trends,a fast Hough transformation that is applicable to reading recognition system of index-instrument is proposed to recognize the index and though restricted the area searching to reduce calculating amount.The experimental results show that the method enhances the system's timeliness largely and 2-3 times faster than the standard Hough transformation.
