Analysis of earth wire breakage of transmission lines caused by bird disasters and corresponding countermeasures

Their original habitats ruined by frequent economic activities of humankind,an increasing number of birds nest on transmission line supports.Upon investigation into a bird-caused earth wire breakage accident of 110 kV Liliang Line in Guangdong,China,the deficiencies and hidden safety troubles in design and operation of transmission lines at present are pointed out.Precautions against similar accidents are put forward as well.
