Research on attempted event management of long-distance pipelines

Attempted event and accidents have similar mechanism,the study on management processes and precautions of attempted event can provide effective support for prevention and control of the accident. Firstly,the basic concepts and management framework of attempted event were introduced,and the characteristics of attempted event management on long-distance pipelines were analyzed. Then the corresponding solutions of the problems were proposed,including exemption report institution,grade classification of attempted event,building specific database of attempted event,education and training,and so on. Then the specialized reporting management process for the attempted event in long-distance pipelines was presented. At last,the case management analysis was conducted on attempted event of a long-distance gas pipeline. It showed that third party damage is the main reason of attempted event in long-distance pipelines of China. By reason analysis,the prevention and control measures were put forward to ensure the safe operation of pipeline.
