Attribute-oriented Induction and Conceptual Clustering

Attribute-oriented induction is a method for knowledge discovery in databases that has been recently described and widely applied. This paper points out the close connection between attribute-oriented induction and conceptual clustering which is a kind of machine learning method, and describes how a conceptual clustering algorithm can be used to perform attribute-oriented induction.
