Analysis and countermeasure of transformer differential protection malfunction due to CT saturation

By analyzing the mechanism of transformer differential protection malfunction after current transformer(CT) saturated,on the basis of analyzing various traditional countermeasures of CT saturation,this paper puts forward a new method of using Rogowski coils as sensor to solve the CT saturation problem.The electronic current transformer based on Rogowski coils will become the perfect substitute for the traditional CT differential protection beacause of its good linearity, no magnetic saturation,wide range frequency,high precision and reliability, etc.
