Research on bare metal backup and recovery

Firstly,this paper introduced the data backup and recovery technology,explained the significance of this technology.It introduced the definition of bare metal backup and recovery,pointed out the difference between bare metal backup recovery and common backup recovery,analyzed the merit and defect of current popular bare metal backup and recovery software.Secondly,explained the Windows and Linux system boot process,discussed the methods to do bare metal backup and recovery for Windows system and Linux system in detail,and pointed out the key problems and solutions.It indicated the importance of recovery platform for bare metal recovery,put forward the methods to make a bootable Linux system on U-disk and a bootable Windows system on optical disk.Finally,implemented a completely bare metal backup and recovery system for Windows.Moreover,the software achieved good performance and security in contrast to traditional bare metal backup and recovery software because the new system makes use of some new technologies such as open file backup and virtual encrypted disk.
