A Call Admission Control Policy Based on Handoff Call's Queuing in WCDMA System
WU Shi-qi · Systems engineering and electronics · 2002
This paper proposes a call admission control policy for wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) system. Its idea is to reduce handoff failure probability and guarantee user's QoS requirements. Handoff calls share channels with new calls. If there is no free channel in the system, the new call is blocked, and the handoff call enters the buffer to queue. Once the handoff call enters the buffer, the timer is started and the handoff call waits for being served. When there is free channel in the system and time does not run out, the handoff call can take the free channel and receive service.
