Determination Strategy on Software Instrumentation Scope Based on Program Dependency Graph

Program dependency graph is defined,and two strategies on determination software instrumentation scope are presented.The application of these strategies is illustrated by analyzing of a simple distributed system,a Serve/Client system.These strategies can be used to determine the process of a specified system function and to identify the call sequence of system function in reverse engineering respectively.They are useful in understanding a system quickly.
