A New Algorithm for Image-Detail-Preserving Histogram Equalization

The problems of image detail loss and noise amplification during image histogram equalization are analyzed in this paper. A new histogram equalization algorithm which can preserve image details is presented. Experiment results reveal that this new algorithm can enhance image contrast,preserve image details simultaneously,and can restrict image noise.
