TERNARY FLIP-FLOPS WITH TRIPLE-RAIL OUTPUTS AND THEIR APPLICATION IN TERNARY SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS
Hen X · 1985
This paper indicates that a ternary flip-flop (“tri-flop”) should have following features: triple-rail outputs, triple-state preset capbility, reasonable logic relationships and excitation tables. Based upon these premises, tri-flops, which correspond to various binary flipflops, are designed, including ternary latch and various master-slave tri-flops such as set-state type, D type, JKL type and T type. The construction and logic relationships of the above tri-flops are different from others previously proposed. Examples are given in this paper. It is shown that they can be easily used in the design of various ternary sequential circuits because of their reasonable excitation tables.
