Research of enhancement algorithm for degraded images in adverse weather

Aiming at wide gray-level distribution but limit gray levels of degraded images in adverse weather, an improved GPHE al-gorithm was presented to process V component of original image in HSV color model, which can both preserved image details and enhanced global contrast.While H component kept untreated,and S component was linear stretched.White balance was used to RGB image after enhancement to restore image colors.Experiments show that the method can obtain a good result for degraded images in adverse weather.
