Status and Selection of Key Equipment for Deep Water Drilling

With the exhausting of onshore oil and gas resources,people begin to explore and develop new oil and gas resources in deep water and ultra deep water area.It requires more drilling equipment and drilling technologies due to the increased water depth and complicated marine conditions.According to the characteristic of deep water drilling,some key equipment is discussed in the paper,including the floating drilling equipments,subsea apparatus,subsea wellhead.The factors that should be taken into account in equipment's selection are proposed on the bases of the analysis of the equipment's development status,technical characteristic and key parameters.
